About...

Like any company, there are some rules of the road we must obey, and some policies of our own we need to follow. These are for your protection and ours.

Custom Work Policy

Part of what drives us is the ability to make what you really want, not what's already available in a store or what some mall engraver says you can do. You're not going to hear "you have four lines and no more than X characters per line" from us. The ability to produce what you're really after is what custom work is all about. All custom work follows a three phase process:

Phase 1: A Conversation with Us
We'll discuss what you want out of your custom piece. What you want it to say, how you want it to look. This is a two-way street; as you tell us what you're thinking about, we'll be able to tell you how it'll likely turn out, as well as make some suggestions. From this conversation, we develop a production plan. We then take this plan and digitally design your piece.

Phase 2: Design Proof
Once the design phase of your piece is complete, we'll send you a digital proof that shows you how we intend to make your piece. This isn't a rendering or other "mock up" -- it's a schematic that shows where everything will go and how it'll appear. We won't move forward until you approve of the design plan, and we can make further modifications at this stage. Once you approve the design, everybody's committed; you've agreed to purchase the finished piece at the agreed price, and we've agreed to produce the piece using the agreed-upon plan. Payment processing, acquisition of your shipping information, and determination of the delivery date are all completed before we move to the next phase.

Phase 3: Production & Delivery
Your piece is crafted using the design you've seen and approved. All processing and finishing is completed, then your piece is carefully packed and shipped to you.

"Custom piece" of course means that it's been made to your specifications and is tailored to your design. Consequently, like all engraved pieces, we cannot accept return of any merchandise for any reason other than damage during shipping; we won't be able to do anything with it.

Content Policy

While "want you want" is our guiding policy, we do have some restrictions on content.

Depictions of Illegal Activity
If what you're after depicts or endorses some sort of illegal activity, we're not going to do it. Bear in mind we operate in Pennsylvania in the United States, so that includes anything depicting drugs or their use. Laws are different in other parts of the country, but we operate under Pennsylvania law. Additionally, known gang signs or symbols are also on our "cannot do" list.

Pornography
No. This doesn't really need a description, but here it is anyway: anything involving people in a state of undress or engaged in any activity that could be considered pornographic are out of the question.

Symbols or Depictions of Hate Groups or Concepts
Strictly speaking, not illegal in many jurisdictions, but we won't do them anyway. Endorsements of hate groups or activities, or identified symbols of such are firmly in the "absolutely not" area. Examples include -- but are NOT limited to -- swastikas, apartheid flags, or the rebel "stars and bars" flag. Similarly, hate slogans are also out. If your design or piece includes anything that could be construed as hate-driven, we won't be able to help you.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE:
If we receive any content that could potentially be in violation of the law, we will notify local authorities and turn over that content and your information.

Return & Cancellation Policy

We've alluded to this earlier, but here's our policy on returns:

Once we've personalized and item or created a custom piece, we can't use it for anything. Consequently, once you've approved the design, you've agreed to purchase the piece we're producing for you, and we'll collect payment before starting assembly. At that point, everybody's committed.

We cannot accept return of customized or custom pieces except in two cases:
1. We made a mistake. If we got a name wrong or otherwise made a mistake that didn't follow the production design, then that's on us, and we'll make it right.
2. Something was broken in shipping. It's unlikely, but there's a possibility that something might be damaged in shipping. If that happens, we'll take care of you and yell at our shipping department until we pass out.
In these cases, two things will happen:
Step 1: We'll need the bad piece back. That's so we can see where things went wrong -- whether it was us or possibly a supplier that failed us.
Step 2: We'll send you another copy of your order. If the piece was damaged in shipping, we'll send you an identical replacement. If we got a detail wrong, we'll fix that and send you the replacement.

So, in a nutshell:
Returns: For anything except the aforementioned two cases, sorry, we can't do that.
Cancellations: Contact us as soon as possible! Cancellations will be handled on a case-by-case basis and outcome will depend largely on where your order is in the production process.

Design Ownership Policy

When we produce a piece, Constellation Services LLC will retain ownership of the design and the intellectual property of the finished piece. Fundamentally, this means that we reserve the right to reuse a design (or parts thereof) as we see fit, include images of the piece or a derivative in marketing materials (including but not limited to our website or in e-mails), or to produce additional copies for marketing, sale, or other uses.

Privacy Policy

When you contact us, you're providing contact information, and when you place an order, you're supplying billing and other information. It's a valid and important question: are we going to share that information with anyone?

The short answer: with the exception of one specific case, no, never.

Frankly, we hate it when companies sell our information, too, so we're not going to do that to you. Your contact information will go no further than us. We'll contact you from time to time with new offers and items (unless you opt out), but if you get offers from any other companies, you can rest assured that wasn't our doing.

Now, the one exception case: law enforcement. If you send us something that could itself be or otherwise represent anything illegal, we're going to contact law enforcement right away and turn over everything pertaining to that content, and that includes your contact information. Additionally, if law enforcement contacts us with a subpoena for your information and order details/history, you can bet we're going to immediately comply with their request.

We take reasonable precautions to protect our systems and information, including (but not limited to) antivirus, firewall, and anti-malware software that is updated on a regular basis. But, if someone hacks into our systems and steals information, Constellation Services LLC accepts no responsibility for losses or damages incurred through the use of information illegally obtained from our systems.
